Transportation in Wisconsin – The Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee Rail Line

Transportation is a hot topic these days but also confusing.

The papers are full of articles about Light Rail, the Connector and the Marquette Interchange. What is the best solution and where should we be spending our state and federal dollars?

In steps the KRM (Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee) Rail Line. A train that would extend from the current METRA that runs from Chicago to Kenosha . The plan is to extend that service through Racine and into downtown Milwaukee – creating a rail link from our fair city to Chicago and back.

Regardless of where you fall on these issues, one thing is sure – Milwaukee is one of the few major cities in the United States without some kind of commuter rail system and something has to be done.

Tune in Saturday, May 6th when our guest Rosemary Potter, the Executive Director of Transit NOW, a nonprofit group supporting the KRM will help us sort through the issues and present the facts on transit in S.E. Wisconsin.
